While there have been multiple phases in life with spur-of-the- moment decisions made, leaving the previous leadership role was one such leap of faith. The emotional confusion of saying goodbye to an organization I had poured my heart into wasn't easy. Also, the security of a steady paycheck and the comfort of a familiar routine were not easy to walk away from. As I stood at this crossroads, the biggest question echoing in my mind was, \"What next?\" I had great, easy options, sure, but none of them felt quite right. Then, almost as if by divine intervention, a unique opportunity presented itself —a chance to build something of my own. It was risky, uncertain, and terrifying. I could have easily passed it on, convincing myself that it wasn't the right time or that I wasn't the right person. But in that moment of doubt, a voice inside me whispered, \"Why not you?\" That whisper turned into a dream to achieve, and I found myself diving headfirst into the world of startups. The first few months were a whirlwind—a crash course in everything from business plans to branding. But it wasn't just about building a company; it was about building myself. The toughest challenges you've faced as a founder.
Every single day brought new lessons—the grit required to navigate the challenges of launching a business, the art of building a brand from scratch, and the delicate approach of transitioning relationships. But beyond the practical skills, this journey has been a masterclass in personal growth. As a Mom Entrepreneur: As a woman, and especially as a mother, this journey has been transformative. Before, my career was my priority—my \"baby.\" I was a working woman who was merely keeping my kids alive. Entrepreneurship, though, has forced me to re-evaluate my priorities. I've learned the importance of balance and being present. Now, I cherish the moments spent listening to my boys, playing with them, and reading them stories. I've discovered the warmth of connection that was missing before. Lessons: Humility: Learnt the power of humility, recognizing that every interaction is an opportunity to learn. Embrace Challenges: Embraced a growth mindset, seeing challenges as stepping stones to improvement. Being Passionate: Rediscovered the joy of passion, finding purpose in even the smallest tasks. Selflessness: Discovered the true meaning of selflessness, realizing that success is about creating value for others.
